You are bidding on a hard to find Donald Duck’s Nephew Louie with a baseball cap © Walt Disney Productions Ceramica De Cuernavaca Wall Mask Plaque from the 1960’s in VERY GOOD CONDITION!
Huey, Dewey and Louie: Their very names were enough to make Donald’s spine convulse! For these three cheerful individuals (with deliberate malice) made Donald's life miserable over the years. They first arrived on the scene in a short called "Donald’s Nephews" in 1938. Donald was unlucky enough to receive from his sister Dumbella a postcard telling him that her three “angel” children would shortly be arriving to stay with him. Little did Donald realize that the three Nephews might never, never permanently go home!
In the 1940's and 50's there were many "nameless” ceramic facilities in Mexico making Disney ceramics. The ceramics were supposedly licensed through the Evan K. Shaw Company as some examples have been seen with Shaw paper labels.
The CERAMICA de CUERNAVACA COMPANY (Cuenavaca, Mexico) became an Official Disney Licensee in the 1960's. Cuernavaca produced some great Disney characters in the shapes of Wall Masks, Banks and Cookie Jars.
You are bidding on a Louie Wearing A Baseball Cap which was one of a set of three of Donald Duck’s Nephews Huey, Dewey & Louie Ceramic Wall Masks made by the CERAMICA de CUERNAVACA COMPANY.
There are no cracks or breaks, however, there is one 1/16” chip on the bottom of his beak that is hardly noticeable. The paint on this Nephew is vivid and bright with little loss of paint. There is visible crazing on this nice piece. Louie with baseball cap measures 3” tall x 2 1/2” wide.
The markings on the back of this cute Louie piece include: “© WALT DISNEY PRODUCTION” along with “CERAMICA DE CUERNAVACA”
